Beginning in fall 2025, Kellogg Library’s operating hours will be adjusted to the following schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-8 p.m.

As part of the university’s broader efforts to address budget constraints, the University Library reviewed Kellogg building usage data and found that 97% of building visits occur within this adjusted operating schedule. Like other campus libraries throughout the CSU system, reducing our building hours in a targeted and data-informed way allows us to adapt to the current budget environment while maintaining services where demand is greatest for our student, faculty, and staff user communities.   

The USU provides additional hours in the early weekday mornings and on Friday and Sunday evenings, and the Library will still offer extended hours for Finals. In addition, you can always use the Library website and Ask Us service for 24/7 access to resources, research guides, and personalized chat support.  

 We are committed to monitoring Library use needs and usage patterns and remain open to reassessing our operating schedule in the future if the needs of our user communities change and additional funding becomes available.
