CSUSM University Library wins the LEAD Award

The CSUSM University Library has received the 2025 Library Excellence in Access and Diversity (LEAD) Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine. The Award honors academic libraries’ programs and initiatives that support inclusive excellence and belonging on their campus. The CSUSM Library was honored for the second year in a row and will be featured, along with 33 other recipients, in the March 2025 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.

We are deeply grateful for this recognition.

Library Waives Fines for Overdue or Lost Items Due to Wildfires

We extend our support to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

The CSUSM University Library is thinking of our Cougar family, friends, and loved ones who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

If you have lost library items due to fire, please contact libcirc@csusm.edu and we will work with you to waive any associated overdue or lost item fines.

2024-25 Common Read Selections & Events

The 2024/25 CSUSM Common Read is an opportunity for all students to build community through reading banned and challenged books. This year, we've selected books that center African American, Latinx, Asian American, American Indian, LGBTQ and other characters, or challenge status quo. These books have traditionally been targeted for removal from school and public libraries alike.

Students can choose from a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts to explore, and learn more about banning books and censoring ideas.
